Teacher Training

In this 200 hour Yoga Alliance approved training you will learn:

  • 9 Namaskars, 12 Pranayama, 18 Mudra, 27 Meditations, 36 Sequences,108 Asana (You will be given “scripts” that you can use or make your own)
  • Hands on enhancements for core asana, quality of touch, scope of practice (This is intended to help you connect more deeply the individual asana to your unique body and also to experience how the muscles work and how energy breath moves in any given asana)
  • Many ways to sequence a practice for specific benefits or themes (Overall theory of sequencing in an intelligent way for both the physical body and the movments of prana – vital life force. You will be given sequences that you can use or modify to reflect your personal style and what works best for you.)
  • How to prevent, modify for and work with common Yoga injuries
  • Eight limbs of Yoga as guidelines for living a meaningful and purposeful life (These are the “ethical precepts” as taught by Patangali in the Yoga Sutras.)
  • History of Yoga, important teachers, modern styles of Yoga and mythology of common asana
  • Subtle body anatomy – nadis, chakras, prana vayus, koshas, dosha, gunas (energetic body)
  • Western anatomy – muscles, bones, fascia, nervous system
  • How to confidently communicate and demonstrate in front of a group (developing a strong voice, use of active language, creative ways to express otherwise rote instruction)
  • Creating and holding sacred space, compassionate presence, learning styles
  • Draft a business plan, public biography, business card and class descriptions


This program is for you if you:

  • Want to share your love of Yoga and help others improve their lives by becoming a Yoga instructor
  • Want to go deeper into Yoga philosophy and healthy living than is available in public classes
  • Intend to pursue training in speciality areas (often 200hr training is a prerequisite)
  • Already practice and want to bring Yoga to your workplace (schools, offices, mental health, bodywork)
  • Want to become part of a like minded community and build friendships with others interested in healthy living
  • Feel ready for personal growth & transformation and want to get more in tune with your multidimensional self – body, mind, heart, spirit

With your personal embodiment as the foundation, our Yoga Alliance approved 200 hour training will give you the opportunity to study and practice techniques and philosophy from many traditions, some of which include vinyasa flow, restorative, Yin and basic hatha that you may practice or teach as gentle, moderate or vigorous. There are no prerequisites, although we suggest that you have some experience with Yoga.

Classes Meet:

  • 2 to 3 Sundays a month 9:30am to 4:00pm or
  • Every Wednesday 9:00am to 3:00pm
  • Classes start the week of October 2nd
  • Early bird pricing ends September 18th (Sunday group) or September 21rst (Wednesday group)

OM Work

Yoga Alliance requires 20 hours of non-contact hours. It is essential that you attend public classes in addition to your training hours and develop a home practice that includes the techniques and practices that we study (both count as non-contact hours). You will also be instructed to review material, practice teach, read and complete writing assignments and projects outside of class.

A Sample Day

  • 9:00 – 10:30am
    Guided practice of asana, pranayama, meditation, mudra, mantra, relaxation and meditation
  • 10:45 – Noon
    Lecture, discussion, reflections, personal embodiment practices, sharing
  • Noon – 1:00pm Break
  • 1:00 – 3:30pm
    Analytical asana studies, anatomy, hands on experiential exercises, practice teaching
  • 3:30 – 4:00pm
    Closing and integrating that may include a short practice of asana, pranayama and/or meditation


  • $2250 paid in full early bird (by 9/18 for Sunday group and 9/21 for Wednesday group)
  • $2500 paid in full after 9/18 (Sundays) or 9/21 (Wednesday)
